  • Purpose of the trip

    The SMI team will work with local pastors and missionaries by traveling to impoverished areas in the area, both in rural and urban settings. The clinics will enable local pastors to gain stature in their communities and also serve as a venue to share the Gospel and nourish relationships with individuals attending the clinics.

  • Cost

    $2,800.00 which includes airfare and a safari

  • Trip overview

    The Team will fly into the city of Nairobi where it will travel by bus to a local hotel in the vicinity of the people groups to be served. Over the next 4 to 5 days, the team will travel from its base at the hotel to local cities and villages to conduct eye clinics. At the end of the trip, the group will have an opportunity to participate in a safari as well as other sightseeing and shopping opportunities.

  • Climate

    The climate in the location of our trip is semi arid with warm days and cool nights.

  • Accommodations

    The team will be housed at a local hotel. Rooms are double occupancy with an option for single accommodation at additional cost. A continental breakfast will be provided at the hotel and the team will have evening meals at local restaurants. During the day, lunch will be purchased and delivered to the group at the clinic location.

  • Physical requirements

    There will be moderate physical activity, mainly consisting of carrying and setting up equipment and supplies. Also, during hours of the clinic, it is possible that prolonged standing, stooping and walking will take place.
