  • Purpose of the trip

    The SMI team will work with local pastors and missionaries by traveling to the island of Kupang. an impoverished island of Indonesia.  The clinics will enable local pastors to gain stature in their communities and also serve as a venue to share the Gospel and nourish relationships with individuals attending the clinics.

  • Cost

    Estimated $2,500.00

  • Trip overview

    The Team will fly into the city of Bali and then on to the island of Kupang.  We will stay at a local hotel for 4 to 5 days.  The team will conduct eye clinics in various impoverished areas throughout the island.

  • Climate

    The climate is tropical. Temperatures during the typically reach 85 – 90 degrees with nighttime temperatures in the seventies.

  • Accommodations

    Rooms are double occupancy with an option for single accommodation at additional cost.

    A continental breakfast will be provided at the hotel and the team will have evening meals at local restaurants. During the day, lunch will be purchased and delivered to group during the clinic.

  • Health considerations

  • Physical requirements

    There will be moderate physical activity, mainly consisting of carrying and setting up equipment and supplies. Also, during hours of the clinic, it is possible that prolonged standing, stooping and walking will take place.
